Mr Recycle More starts the year in style for CCC at the London Parade 2009
On 1 January 2009 CCC joined the London Parade, a fantastic celebration of international music and carnival floats and walking entries from many London Boroughs. We went along with Mr Recycle More; the robotic entry from London Borough of Tower Hamlets, where we are the Mayor’s Charity of the Year. Amongst hundreds of marching bands and amazing floats Mr Recycle More was definitely the star of the show; standing at about 20 feet tall and created entirely out of Tower Hamlets Recycle Wheelie Bins.
Mr Recycle More came second in the competition for best entry – winning a brilliant £3,000 donation for Child Concern Consortium. Further donations were collected from excited spectators, thousands of whom lined the route from Parliament Square to Piccadilly.
This marks a great start to the year for CCC and we want to say a massive THANK YOU to the team at Tower Hamlets and creators of Mr Recycle More for making this happen.
